Informazioni su Glass for Europe
Glass for Europe is the European trade association representing the flat glass and glazing value chain. Based in Brussels, the organization brings together Europe’s leading flat glass manufacturers and works with national industry associations representing thousands of glass processors, transformers, glazing specialists and related companies across Europe.
The association represents flat glass used in a wide range of applications, with a particularly strong presence in the construction sector, where high-performance glass is used in windows, façades, curtain walls and other building-envelope systems. Flat glass also plays an important role in automotive and transport glazing, solar-energy technologies, furniture, appliances and other industrial applications.
Glass for Europe acts as the collective voice of the European flat glass sector toward EU institutions, policymakers, regulators and standardization bodies. Its activities focus on energy efficiency, sustainable construction, industrial competitiveness, climate and energy policy, circular economy, recycling, product regulation, technical standards and the decarbonisation of glass manufacturing.
A major priority of the association is the promotion of high-performance glazing as a key solution for reducing the energy consumption and carbon emissions of European buildings. Glass for Europe advocates for higher renovation rates, improved building-energy performance and greater recognition of advanced glazing technologies in European construction and climate policies.
The organization is also strongly involved in the development of circular-economy solutions for flat glass. It promotes closed-loop recycling, increased recovery of end-of-life building and automotive glass, the use of recycled glass cullet in manufacturing and improved systems for dismantling and collecting glazing products.
Through technical expertise, policy advocacy, research, market information, publications and cooperation with national partners, Glass for Europe supports innovation and the long-term competitiveness of the European flat glass industry while promoting glass as a durable, recyclable, high-performance and strategically important material for Europe’s transition toward climate-neutral buildings, mobility and energy systems.
