The Roto Group has announced a series of leadership changes designed to strengthen continuity and reliability within the company. From 1 September 2025, Christoph Hugenberg will assume the role of CEO of Roto Frank Holding AG, succeeding Dr Eckhard Keill, who will move to the Supervisory Board. At the same time, Jochen Frieß will be appointed CEO of Roto Frank Dachsystem-Technologie GmbH (Roto DST).
Dr Eckhard Keill to Transition to Supervisory Board.
After nearly two decades in leadership, Dr Eckhard Keill (72) will step down from his role as Sole Director of Roto Frank Holding AG on 31 August 2025. Having joined the Group in August 2005 as Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Roto Frank Fenster- und Türtechnologie GmbH (Roto FTT), Dr Keill has played a decisive role in shaping the company’s global presence.
Reflecting on his transition, he stated:
“Almost exactly 20 years after my first day at Roto, I feel a special connection to this company. I look forward to continuing to accompany the Group’s development from the Supervisory Board and thank the shareholders for their trust.”
Dr Keill will also continue to serve on the supervisory boards of the Group’s three divisions.

Christoph Hugenberg Named CEO of Roto Frank Holding AG.
Taking over as CEO is Christoph Hugenberg (59), who currently leads Roto Frank Dachsystem-Technologie GmbH. Hugenberg has been with the Roto Group since 2007, previously holding key management roles at Roto FTT. His appointment reflects the shareholders’ commitment to continuity and internal succession planning.
Dr Keill welcomed the decision, commenting:
“I am delighted that Christoph Hugenberg, a successful and well-established executive within the Group, has been appointed as the new CEO of the holding company. The Roto brand stands for reliability – and reliability requires continuity in leadership.”
Jochen Frieß to Lead Roto DST.
With Hugenberg moving to the holding company, Dipl.-Ing. Jochen Frieß (54) has been appointed as the new CEO of Roto Frank Dachsystem-Technologie GmbH. Frieß brings over 20 years of experience from the ebm-papst Group, where he held senior roles in Sales, Product Management and Board-level leadership.
Hugenberg praised his successor:
“Jochen Frieß has gained deep expertise at a company whose values are similar to those of the Roto Group. He quickly developed a clear understanding of Roto DST’s unique profile and will be a reliable partner for retailers and tradespeople.”
Continuity for Customers and Employees.
Roto Frank’s leadership emphasised that these appointments underline the company’s long-standing commitment to stability. Marcus Sander, CEO of Roto FTT, noted the opportunities for collaboration with Frieß, while Dr Christian Faden, Managing Director of Roto Frank Professional Services GmbH, highlighted the importance of continuity:
“Dr Keill and Christoph Hugenberg represent stability, which is particularly important to the Roto Group’s customers in these times. I am delighted to continue working with both of them.”

A Clear Focus on Reliability.
The leadership changes reflect the Roto Group’s core philosophy: continuity, reliability, and loyalty to its employees, customers and partners. With Dr Keill moving into a supervisory role and experienced leaders stepping into new responsibilities, the Group signals both respect for tradition and a confident step into the future.
