Reynaers MasterPatio Bi-Part Door Achieves PAS 24 Security Certification

Reynaers Aluminium has announced that its MasterPatio Bi-Part door system has successfully achieved PAS 24:2022 certification, confirming the system meets enhanced security standards for residential construction.

Following extensive testing designed to evaluate resistance to forced entry, the centre-opening MasterPatio Bi-Part configuration has demonstrated its ability to withstand opportunistic burglary attempts. The certification confirms the system complies with security requirements applicable to new-build residential developments.

According to the company, the testing programme validates the door’s structural integrity and locking performance, ensuring it meets the expectations of specifiers seeking both architectural elegance and robust protection.

Designed for modern architecture

Alongside its newly certified security credentials, the MasterPatio Bi-Part system is engineered to deliver high levels of design flexibility. Its slim profiles and centre-opening configuration allow architects to create wide glazed openings while maintaining a refined minimalist appearance.

John McComb, Technical Director at Reynaers Aluminium UK, commented:

“Modern architecture demands more than premium aesthetics. Safety, security and sustainability must also be integral to the design process.

Through responsible engineering and innovative design, the MasterPatio Bi-Part offers slim sightlines combined with long-term peace of mind thanks to its high-performance security properties and efficient, sustainable production methods.”

The system’s slimline construction also enables architects to specify a four-pane centre-opening door within shallow wall structures, situations where traditional sliding doors may not normally be suitable.

Meeting regulatory requirements

PAS 24 certification also supports compliance with Approved Document Q of the Building Regulations, which requires all new-build homes in England to include security features capable of resisting forced entry.

Both monorail and two-rail frame versions of the MasterPatio Bi-Part configuration have now achieved PAS 24:2022 certification. This allows the system to be used confidently in residential developments as well as renovation projects where security compliance is required.

Beyond residential applications, Reynaers notes that the system’s durability and sustainability credentials also make it suitable for certain commercial environments where high-performance building components are specified.

McComb added:

“The MasterPatio Bi-Part system represents a no-compromise approach to design and security for architects and specifiers seeking centre-opening doors that meet in the middle. It also allows fabricators and installers to offer customers expansive openings with a PAS 24-compliant solution supported by Reynaers’ technical expertise.”
