Simonswerk GmbH Opens Doors to a Sustainable Future with Ambitious Climate Goals

SIMONSWERK, a leading manufacturer of high-quality hinge systems, has unveiled a comprehensive sustainability strategy that places environmental, social, and economic responsibility at the heart of its corporate management. The company’s commitment goes beyond environmental protection, aiming to enhance the quality of life for employees and the communities in which it operates.

At the centre of this strategy is a clear objective: climate neutrality by 2030. By joining the Klimainitiative der IHKs und der Wirtschaft in Ostwestfalen-Lippe, SIMONSWERK has aligned itself with regional industry leaders in a joint effort to reduce emissions and promote sustainable growth. “For us, sustainability means taking responsibility – for the environment, society, and future generations,” says Jasmin Poljakovic, Sustainability Manager at SIMONSWERK.

Guided by Global Goals

The company’s actions are shaped by the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on eight key areas: health and safety, water efficiency, renewable energy, fair labour, diversity and inclusion, resource conservation, climate protection, and strategic partnerships.

Measurable Transparency

To enable sustainable construction decisions, SIMONSWERK provides Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) detailing the ecological footprint of its hinge systems across their entire life cycle.

Recognised Performance

In its first EcoVadis sustainability assessment in 2024, SIMONSWERK scored 54/100 points, outperforming the industry average. The company also partners with Integrity Next to monitor and assess sustainability across its supply chain, addressing topics such as REACH compliance, conflict minerals, and carbon footprint.

Proven Results: Between 2021 and 2024, SIMONSWERK achieved notable reductions:

  • 85% cut in greenhouse gas emissions
  • 23% fewer hazardous substances
  • 22% lower energy consumption

These achievements demonstrate that SIMONSWERK’s sustainability strategy is delivering tangible results — and reinforcing its role in shaping a climate-neutral future for the building industry.
