Winkhaus Wins German Brand Award Gold for blueEvo
Winkhaus has been awarded one of the top honours at the German Brand Awards 2025, receiving Gold in the “Excellent Brands – Building and Elements” category. The jury praised the company’s consistent and sophisticated brand strategy for the electronic locking system blueEvo, highlighting its combination of design quality, functionality and clear brand identity.
A Customer-Centred Brand Approach
The award, presented by the German Design Council, recognises outstanding brand management and design competence. According to the jury, Winkhaus stood out for its high-quality visualisations, authentic communication and user-oriented approach. For the company, the accolade validates its direction. “Winkhaus stands for reliability and the goal of offering our customers real added value – in terms of products, service and communication,” said Tilmann Winkhaus, Member of the Executive Board. “With blueEvo, we have succeeded in making this brand attitude visible and tangible.”
blueEvo: A New Generation of Access Control
Launched in 2024, blueEvo offers intelligent electronic access control for a wide variety of building types. The system allows doors, gates and locks to be managed securely with a single key, combining intuitive operation with durable hardware. Winkhaus positions it as a future-proof solution that reflects a new generation of smart building technologies.
Marketing Director Marc Götte explained the brand philosophy: “Our aim was to show the added value of the product not only technically, but also emotionally and visually. From positioning to campaigning, we pursued a clear strategy that creates trust and orientation.”
Double Success at the Awards
In addition to the Gold award, blueEvo was also named “Product of the Year” in the Excellent Brands category, underlining the strength of the campaign supporting its launch.
The German Brand Awards are judged by a 20-member panel of experts from business, science, consultancy and design. Each year, they honour projects that set new standards in brand management and communication.
A Legacy of Innovation
For Winkhaus, the recognition reinforces its long-standing reputation in windows, doors and access systems. Established in 1854 and still family-owned, the group employs more than 2,300 staff across Germany and Europe. The success of blueEvo reflects not only a new product but also the company’s broader commitment to innovation, customer value and brand-led strategy in an evolving construction market.
