FUHR Autosafe 835P Panic Locking System Set New Standards with 2-in-1 Day Latch Function
CARL FUHR GmbH & Co. KG enhanced its Autosafe 835P panic locking system by adding a secured day latch function to the established panic function E with secured permanent unlocking. The innovation created a genuine 2-in-1 solution, delivering new flexibility for fabricators, installers and end-users.
Two Functions in One Lock.
The Autosafe 835P was already well regarded for its secured permanent unlocking, which allowed all locking elements—including the latch—to be retracted and secured for unobstructed passage.
With the update, FUHR introduced the secured day latch function: the main latch remained active, while the secondary locking points were disengaged. This meant that doors equipped with an electric strike could now be operated via an access control system during daytime use—an area previously limited to key-operated panic locks.
Expanded Fields of Application.
The day latch functionality opened up new opportunities in medical practices, small office complexes, and wellness facilities, where controlled and time-limited access is required. Combined with a mechanical door opener, it also offered a straightforward and cost-efficient solution.
Key Advantages at a Glance.
- Flexible use – both secured permanent unlocking and secured day latch in a single lock.
- Easy changeover – a simple screw adjustment enabled the switchover.
- Optimised warehousing – fewer product variants reduced storage costs for distributors and fabricators.
Raising the Benchmark.
By integrating two functions into one lock, FUHR set a new benchmark in flexibility and practicality. The Autosafe 835P update confirmed the company’s reputation for developing innovative locking solutions that balance security with ease of use in modern access control environments.
