GEZE GmbH Powerturn Receives Major Software Update, Enhancing Accessibility and Efficiency

Last Updated: August 26, 2025By Tags: , ,

In a move that reinforces its commitment to user comfort and intelligent automation, GEZE has rolled out Software Update 2.1 for its flagship Powerturn swing door drive — already a staple in public buildings and high-traffic environments.

The update brings improved accessibility, noise reduction, simplified commissioning, and aesthetic enhancements, positioning Powerturn as one of the most advanced solutions for automated swing doors.

Quieter, Smarter, More Intuitive.

With the new servo mode optimization, Powerturn now offers an even more natural manual opening experience — closely mimicking the feel of a traditional manual door. Closing noise has also been reduced, making it ideal for noise-sensitive spaces such as healthcare and hospitality facilities.

The drive’s factory settings have been refined to minimize on-site adjustments, reducing setup time for fabricators. In addition, the hold-open system can now function without a manual trigger switch — activated simply by pulling the door leaf — which streamlines installation and lowers material requirements.

Accessibility Without Compromise.

By removing the need for a visible manual switch, Powerturn not only improves design aesthetics but also reduces the risk of false triggers in emergency scenarios. Resetting the system is simpler than ever: a manual door movement is all it takes to restore automatic function. The system also features intelligent short-circuit protection for enhanced reliability.

Backward-Compatible and Future-Ready.

All new Powerturn units are shipping with version 2.1 pre-installed. Existing systems can also be upgraded via a software flash during routine maintenance, performed by GEZE or certified service partners — ensuring future-proof performance for installations already in use.

With this update, GEZE reaffirms its focus on accessibility, reliability, and smart integration — bringing comfort and safety to the next level in swing door automation.
