Rehau Artevo Terra Wins Red Dot Award for Sustainable Product Design
Triple International Recognition
REHAU Window Solutions has added another accolade to its portfolio as ARTEVO TERRA, the company’s flagship sustainable window system, received the Red Dot Award in the newly created “Sustainable Product Design” category. The prize was formally presented at the 2025 Red Dot Gala in Essen. Already the winner of the iF Design Award and the German Design Award earlier this year, ARTEVO now counts three major international distinctions in 2025.
A Signal for the Industry
For REHAU, the award is more than recognition of design excellence. It underlines the strategic role of sustainable materials and technologies in shaping the future of construction. CEO Carsten Heuer described the achievement as “a strong signal” to partners and customers, pointing out that ARTEVO solutions anticipate future regulatory and market requirements while driving growth for window professionals.
Chief Technology Officer Frank Zimmermann highlighted the product’s composition, which incorporates up to 78 per cent recycled content alongside innovative glass fibre reinforcement. This combination, he noted, makes ARTEVO TERRA a “testament to technological excellence” and a benchmark for the industry’s shift toward low-carbon solutions.
Sustainability as a Market Driver
For Chief Marketing Officer Peter Kotzur, the Red Dot label carries value well beyond the design community. “It is a highly visible seal of quality that creates true value – environmentally, economically and functionally. For our partners, it adds significant marketing weight and reinforces REHAU’s position as a trusted innovator,” he said.
Redefining the Window Profile
ARTEVO TERRA combines bio-attributed PVC on the outer layer with recycled PVC at the core, achieving a marked reduction in CO₂ emissions. Certified under ISCC PLUS, the bio-attributed PVC confirms traceable and sustainable sourcing. Built on an 80 mm platform, the system complements the ARTEVO max variant and aligns with SYNEGO AD/MD, giving customers flexibility within a proven framework.
Recognition Beyond Aesthetics
The Red Dot jury created the “Sustainable Product Design” meta-category to honour products that go beyond visual appeal, focusing instead on resource efficiency, circularity and longevity. With nearly 20,000 entries submitted annually, the Red Dot Award is among the world’s most competitive design competitions.
For REHAU, ARTEVO TERRA represents not just a new product but a vision of the future: durable, resource-efficient and globally recognised. As the construction industry intensifies its focus on carbon reduction, awards like this position sustainable design not as a niche, but as the new standard.
