At BAU 2025, aluminium systems specialist WICONA and security expert SOMMER Fassadensysteme announced a strategic partnership to deliver façade solutions that merge maximum sustainability with top-tier security.

WICONA contributes advanced aluminium systems made with up to 100% recycled end-of-life material, supporting the decarbonization of construction. SOMMER brings over 130 years of expertise in high-security façades, offering solutions resistant to burglary (RC6), bullets (FB7), and blasts.

The collaboration targets the growing demand for building envelopes that can withstand extreme threats while meeting strict environmental standards. “This partnership allows us to offer tailored security solutions built with CO₂-reduced aluminium,” said Ralf Seufert of Hydro Building Systems. Oliver Sommer added, “We’re uniting sustainability and security in a way the market has never seen before.”
