Roto Expands Drive&Control Portfolio with New Brochure Showcasing “E-Tec Control” Electronic Sensors for Smarter, Safer and More Energy-Efficient Buildings
Roto Frank Fenster- und Türtechnologie GmbH (Roto FTT) has published a new compact brochure highlighting its electronic monitoring solutions for windows and doors. The “Roto E-Tec Control” range offers seamless integration into BUS and smart home systems, delivering enhanced security, greater comfort and measurable energy savings.
Rising Demand for Intelligent Window and Door Monitoring.
As homeowners and building operators become increasingly aware of the benefits of intelligent building control, demand is growing for windows and doors with wired sensors. These solutions not only boost security by linking to burglar alarm systems, but also support energy efficiency by automatically adjusting heating and cooling when windows are opened.
The new brochure, provides a comprehensive overview of how Roto’s Drive&Control solutions can be planned and implemented across all frame materials and building types.
Flexible Applications Across Main Doors, Tilt&Turn and Sliding Systems.
The concealed “E-Tec Control” contact elements can be combined with proven hardware solutions for windows and doors, including:
- Roto NX and Roto AL Tilt&Turn systems
- Roto Patio Inowa, Patio Alversa and Patio Lift sliding systems
- Roto Safe multipoint locks for main doors
This versatility allows manufacturers to integrate monitoring functions without compromising design or resistance classes.
Potential-Free Integration with Any Smart Home or BUS System.
Key components such as the MVS B contact element, the E-Tec Control | MTS magnetic thermostat sensor, and the Roto Safe deadbolt switch contacts are potential-free, ensuring compatibility with all standard smart home and burglary detection systems. This flexibility is particularly valuable as the choice of smart system is often made after window and door specifications have been finalised.
Enhanced Security and Energy Efficiency.
- Locking status monitoring – The “E-Tec Control | MVS” system detects whether a window is securely locked, certified for burglar alarm systems up to VdS Class C / EN Class 3.
- Deadbolt monitoring – Integrated switch contacts in the Roto Safe multipoint lock monitor and report the status of main doors.
- Thermostat-controlled ventilation – The concealed “MTS” sensor automatically reduces heating or cooling output during ventilation, resuming normal operation once the window is closed.
- Extractor hood safety – The “DAS” control prevents dangerous carbon monoxide build-up by cutting extractor hood power when windows are closed in rooms with fireplaces or gas heating.
Designed for Seamless Integration.
On timber and PVC windows equipped with Roto NX hardware, sensors can be concealed beneath strikers, leaving sufficient space for locking points and enabling RC 3 resistance class certification. The hardware and sensor solutions can be processed on standard production lines, ensuring efficient manufacturing without additional complexity.
Smart, Safe, and Future-Ready.
With its Drive&Control product range, Roto is positioning itself as a leading provider of integrated safety and smart home technology for windows and doors. The combination of invisible installation, multi-system compatibility and proven reliability makes Roto’s electronic monitoring solutions an attractive choice for fabricators, architects and developers aiming to future-proof their projects.
